There are many locations in the UK that can enrich your spirit. Whether it’s fresh air for your lungs, beautiful natural landscapes for the eyes, or activities to satisfy your intellectual cravings – selecting a holiday destination is normally a case of deciding what’s most important to you.
Some locations, however, are in the unique position of helping you accomplish all three. Hay on Wye, our latest addition to ‘101 places to go in the UK, Ireland and France, is just one such place.
Located in one of the many glorious corners of Powys, Hay on Wye is located in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, and offers a wealth of choice for the intrepid traveller. Here are a few of our favourites, but we’d love to hear more, so leave a suggestion below!
• The Hay Literary Festival is undeniably one of the region’s biggest draws. Taking place every May, this celebration of the written word promises a number of events featuring a varied selection of literary movers and shakers. Find out more on the event’s website.
• The Warren is a beautiful riverside pasture that stretches alongside the Wye and makes for a great location to enjoy a lesisurely amble – providing you can put down your book.
