Taking a holiday cottage break is often an experience in itself. With more personality than a hotel break or package holiday, it’s one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the local culture and get an authentic perspective on your surroundings. And because every holiday cottage is different, there’s a wealth of choice in what you can do and where can you do it.
Take our new Cottages of the Week, for example. Apple, Cider and Orchard Cottage lie adjacent to the beautiful Abbaye de la Lucerne and close to the beautiful sandy beaches of Jullouville and Granville, so you won’t exactly be short of “traditional” holiday activities to enjoy. But what made us select them – aside from offering a lovely standard of accommodation in an equally delightful
setting – is the fact that you can take part in painting courses, by arrangement with the owner. They literally allow you to brush up on a new skill!
We doubt you’ll be short of inspiration, as the surrounding area is chock-full of a variety of incredible landscapes and breathtaking views. Manche is famed for its lush green countryside: all rolling pastures and golden sands (a bit like a warmer Dorset, if we’re being honest). From Granville you can catch a boat ride to the Channel Islands and enjoy a different perspective. If you fancy brushing up on your history the Normandy Beaches are within easy reach, as is Bayeux with its famed tapestry.
Each of our featured cottages is built in the traditional style of the region, so your experience of Manche will continue long after you close the front door. There are exposed beams, open-fires and wood-burning stoves to enhance your experience. All properties feature separate garden areas with barbecues and garden furniture to relax and enjoy the long summer days.
Since each property can accommodate at least four holidaymakers they are perfect for family breaks and, due to their close proximity, are equally well suited to larger groups. There are cots and highchairs in all the properties and each one accepts two pets, so when we say family, we mean everyone. After all, we all need a break from time to time don’t we?
The above pics are from all three properties. If you’d like to check out each one in more details please view the listing of Apple Cottage on cottages4you and follow the links to Cider and Orchard on the page. On each listing you can check availability and pricing and make your booking.
