Broadway festival and Seaton Delaval Hall ”are great 2010” attractions

January 7, 2010

Forthcoming events in the Cotswolds and Northumberland have been highlighted by one newspaper as must-see attractions for those going on staycations in 2010.

The Independent said that the Broadway Arts Festival, which takes place from June 11th to 20th, will be a great way to pass the time while staying in a Cotswolds holiday cottage.

It noted that the event, which is being held to commemorate the link Broadway has with the painter John Singer Sargent, will feature fireworks displays, theatre, music and walks and talks about the artist.

And for those wanting to experience a Northumberland holiday the Seaton Delaval Hall is a site that should be checked out.

The newspaper described the building, which has recently been saved by the National Trust, as being "A masterpiece of 18th-century English Baroque architecture".

It was built between 1718 and 1728 and also features gardens designed in 1947 that include statues, a pool and a fountain.ADNFCR-2558-ID-19543584-ADNFCR
